OWS Direct

Oregon Wine Services can now ship your wine to all permitted, open, and on-site states - currently 42 states in all. Simply drop off your wine at OWS or authorize OWS to pull from your current inventory and, where necessary, we'll take care of all permitting, compliance, reporting and fulfillment for 20% above our published fulfillment rates.

• Current Number of Open States: 6 states (no permit required, no extra OWS fees, simply send us your order and we will ship it through our normal service).
• Current Number of Permit States: 28 states (OWS has acquired permits for all of these states, so you don't have to. Send us your order, tell us to use our permit, and we will ship the order. We will bill you for shipping at our normal rate plus 20%. We will take care of excise taxes, but we will bill you for sales taxes when they come due).*
• Current Number of On-Site States: 8 states (no permit required, no extra OWS fees, simply send us your order, indicate that it is an on site sale, and we will ship it through our normal service).
• Fee For Services for Permit States: Our published shipping rates plus 20%
• State Sales & Excise Taxes: Sales Taxes for permit states will be paid by OWS and invoiced to the winery. Excise Taxes for permit states will be paid by OWS. Any sales or excise taxes due for On-Site states are the winery's responsibility.
• Sales and Excise Tax Reporting: For permit states, all reporting and taxes remitted by OWS. Any reports due for open states and on-site states would be the winery's responsibility.
• Permitting Requirements: All costs and responsibilities covered by OWS
• Additional Surcharge: $2 will apply to non-storage clients of OWS to cover receiving and administration costs
• Permit States: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Wyoming
• Open States: Alaska, Iowa, Minnesota, New Mexico, District of Columbia, Florida**
• On-Site States: Delaware, Kansas, Maine, Montana, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Indiana***, and Arizona****

* Label registration may be required

** Florida is open, but shippers are still expected to submit shipment reports. If you use OWS Direct for Florida, we can do your reporting, though all above fees would then apply.

*** Indiana requires a permit even though it is an on-site only state.

**** AZ has an on-site provision that require an initial visit but subsequent orders can be placed without having to make the purchase at the winery.
